Weekly pollen forecast and summary

 

Forecast to 31st May: Pollen: Grass & nettle pollen on the rise; Spores: Generally low for most types.

Grass Pollen Count - High

 Pollen forecast for grass with a high orange pollen count.

Expect a high risk from 27th/28th May onwards in the South, Midlands, East Anglia & South & Mid Wales on sunny days at 17°C and above, and a moderate risk in the North of England and Wales. Scotland and N. Ireland remaining low for now.

Tree Pollen Count - Low

 Pollen forecast for trees with a low green pollen count.

Tree pollen is now low in all Northern areas and very low elsewhere.

Fungal Spore Levels - Moderate

Pollen forecast for spores with a moderate yellow pollen count.

Leptosphaeria will rise after rainfall and during very humid conditions. Cladosporium rising to moderate during warm, dry weather. Alternaria airborne at low risk. We're still seeing aspergillus/penicillium types here at Worcester in higher than usual amounts for the time of year.

Weed Pollen Count - High

Pollen forecast for weeds with a high orange pollen count.

Weed pollen species including nettle, plantain and dock are in flower. The nettle pollen risk will rise to high in the same way as for grass.

All the forecasts are based on information from the quality controlled data produced by the National Pollen Monitoring Network, combined with the information from weather forecasts, local vegetation and typography types and information about biological factors and the weather in the preseason period that influences the pollen count.
